Hi, i’m Simone,
Junior Front-end Developer.
Welcome to my little corner in
the wild wide web!
About me
Hi everyone my name is Simone Astore, Junior Front-end Developer actually based in Turin, Italy.
Design has been a passion of mine for years, mostly spent working in the field of vintage design furniture and cultivating my passion for graphic design and photography, with some studies in copywriting and storytelling. Then one day I thougth: "Why don't I try to approach coding!?"
And so here I am, with passion and commitment, hungry to learn and grow.
I love fluid UI that mixes motion and effectiveness.
I will find the backtick on my italian keyboard!

My Skills
The Magic Door
www.simoneastore.com/themagicdoor - Simone Astore
I’ve always liked videogames and the good old-fashioned style of the “Point-and-Click” ones so I've made the prototype of a web app that mimics one of them.
Experimenting in CSS with positioning and keyframe and with the help of some jQuery interaction i’ve designed and written a door able to teleport you in different places, i’ve wrote the whole code in relative sizes to let it be totally responsive and adaptable to any screen size.
I will continue to update this project upgrading the interactivity of the interface to the point to, possibly, transform it into an eye-catching mini-game.
Special thanks to David Cubitt (IG: @davecubitt) for the beautiful illustration of the landscapes!

I have a great passion for Figma and the possibilities that such a program can open up.
I dabble in UX and UI design moved by the concepts of Prototyping, Accessibility and User Loyalty.
Design creation is pure nonverbal communication.
Below are screenshots to see how I organize my work and at the end of the video you will find the link to also see the prototype of the responsive version of the home.

Isn’t designing and coding your Front-End Developer Portfolio still one of your works? Yes it is.
I’ve worked with HTML, CSS and jQuery to develop a simple interface with smooth animations that follow the navigation of the user. Also, through a light-dark color mode, the site switches color palette to better adapt to the user's necessities.
The website is responsive with some little layout and color differences in the mobile version to avoid compatibility problems.
Nothing too complicated on the surface, easy navigation is fundamental.
